Edward (Aug 2020)

Anne was so helpful. There were 10 of us and we were very comfortable there. She supplied us with everything we needed for our stay including an oven dish for the roast I was making. Thanks Anne.

This was the perfect stay for a group weekend. Anne was very helpful and welcoming, and we couldn't have asked for a better trip!

Stephanie (Sep 2019)

Expect a friendly welcome and clean and comfortable facilities. We would definitely stay again.

Tom (Jul 2020)

Having a fridge full of breakfast items for a fry up was much more than I expected and a welcome touch. Beds were very comfortable. The dining area was clean and had a vintage feel to it. Would recommend to anyone staying in the locality.

Austin (Feb 2020)

Great place to stay. Has plenty of space for a large group with the pub just below. You won't leave hungry either as they had the fridge and presses full of breakfast item.

Ruby (Jul 2020)

Fantastic spot, plenty of space and super clean.

Audrey (Nov 2018)

Amazing hospitality and great craic in the village.

Marie (Jul 2018)

Anne's place was very welcoming & Hill View B&B was spotlessly clean & we enjoyed a very restful & comfortable stay. We loved the selection of food left available for us to choose from. We cooked a lovely breakfast that set us up for the day ahead. The location is great & Upperchurch is such a charming place. We would highly recommend the accommodation and both Anne & Pa are great hosts.

Sandra (Sept 2020)

We stayed here last weekend and Anne couldn’t have been more helpful, she arranged transport into thurles for us as we were attending Féile classical 2018, and even provided scarfs and bags for us from her own house to keep us warm! The fridge was fully stocked and we weren’t under any pressure to leave the next morning. I would definitely recommend the b&b and also Anne has a host.

Diarmuid (Aug 2018)

Anne is a great host, lovely, clean rooms and spacious rooms. Lots of privacy for a big group. It’s a nice peaceful location.

Stephen (Oct 2018)

Nice spot with a few bars around. Never met Anne but Pa was a lovely host.

Dermot Gerard (May 2018)

Well worth a visit in a very quiet area about 13 km from Thurles. Will definitely return.

Great hospitality, very friendly

Ella (Jan 2020)

A lovely spacious AirBnB in a quaint little town (Upperchurch) consisting of one road - perfect from escaping the city. The pub next door was the perfect place to celebrate the end of a decade, incredible hospitality and so enjoyable being in such an authentic Irish pub with the locals! Thurles was only a short drive away for dinner. All the elements of a full breakfast was provided and the kitchen meant cooking it up was easy. Check in and out was easy, and Anne was so lovely to come so quickly and let us back in to the accomodation when we realised we forgot something. The view is beautiful, the shower was good and the beds were comfy

Brid (Jan 2017)

Anne was a Superb host. From the moment we arrived everything was fantastically organised. The house is beautifully furnished with ample space for a large cohort and Anne had the fridge stocked with supplies for a fry fit for an army. Anne and Pat were so welcoming and so helpful, organising taxis to local amenities and we had a fantastic time in Pa's pub ringing in the new year. Upperchurch is a beautiful village and i would highly recommend Anne and Pat as hosts in Hillview.

Paddy (Feb 2016)

This is a great B&B! There is a kitchen and little dining area, and the bedroom was very clean and super cozy (warm heating, hot water, etc.). Also, the hosts and locals were so much fun. I highly recommend this B&B, and I highly recommend stopping in at the pub if you do stay here! This place was seriously super awesome!

Tara (Nov 2019)

We arrived on Thursday night. Anne was there to meet us and made us feel very welcome. She really is a great host and was able to give us plenty of tips for our stay. Hill View itself is right in the village and very central. The rooms are cosy and clean and the kitchen was very well stocked. Thanks for a lovely stay.

Barbara (Aug 2017)

Amazing setting for some time away, picture perfect little town and a relaxing stay.

Ruth (Oct 2019)

Idyllic Irish village in a peaceful setting. Lovely clean BnB which was warm and welcoming.

Amy (Aug 2019)

The B and B was great. Anne and her husband were very thoughtful and had a stocked kitchen for us to have breakfast and snacks. The room was great (number 4) Clean and spacious with a full size private bathroom. The location was perfect for our family gathering just down the street and a short 15/20 minute scenic drive to Thurles town. So happy to have found this little gem in the countryside.

Karen (Oct 2018)

The experience was amazing! Way better than I had expected. I was attending a wedding and got a b&b that was rather far from the wedding and people I knew. Anne was super amazing and took great care of the property and myself! It was scary being there on my own but she made me feel super comfortable and the rooms were beautiful! I slept like a rock! Will definitely make a stay the next time! Beautiful small town experience.

Douglas (Mar 2019)

We had a wonderful time, it was a great and fun location. It’d be a great place to spend the week and day trip around Ireland for any family or group. I’ll be back!!!

Jenna (Mar 2019)

We had all four rooms and it was so fun to be able to make breakfast and all of us hang out in the dining area. Super easy to check in at the attached bar as well!

Sheelagh (Aug 2018)

We had a lovely stay at Anne’s place. Everything was very clean and as described. Anne was very responsive and easy to communicate with. It would be a great place for a family or small group to share (5 bedrooms with ensuites, I think). There is a shared lounge with TV and kitchen with plenty of supplies for an Irish breakfast. The Wi-Fi was spotty, but a better service is coming to the area soon. Upperchurch is very quiet. We did not have any issues with noise from the local pubs (3), but maybe on occasion there are some bigger celebrations. The famous Jim O the Mills is a short car ride away. It’s open only on Thursday nights, so get there early for a seat at around 8:30 if you want to sit and enjoy the traditional music sessions starting at 9. You may want to book a taxi in advance to take you there and back. The road is quite dark at night and parking is along the side of the road. Nearby attractions include Devil’s Bit, the Rock of Cashel, Farney Castle, Holy Cross Abbey, plenty of walking routes, fishing, horse riding, etc. Thurles is the largest big town which is about 20 minutes drive. Thurles has a farmers’ market on Saturday mornings. It is also home to the GAA Semple Stadium and the GAA Museum. Limerick is about 40 minutes drive which is easy through the countryside. We stopped at Birdhill on the way back from Limerick one day. It is a beautiful village. We had a lovely meal in Birdhill at Matt the Thresher, another famous pub. For directions, use “Upperchurch” in (Hidden by Airbnb) Maps. Hillview is right behind the church attached to Pa’s bar and across from Paddy Kinnane’s pub.

Kelsey (June 2018)

The Ryan’s made us feel so at home in Upperchurch. The room was nicely lit, cute, and very comfortable. We took advantage of the shared kitchen area to make breakfast in the morning and to make a soup for dinner one night. Pa’s Bar was great place to hang out and have a pint after a long day of exploring and walking. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and will be back in 2 years with some more family in town.

Julie (Sept 2018)

Large bedrooms, each with its own private bathroom. Lots of light and nice views from the windows. Very clean and cozy, and also very comfortable beds. Large kitchen and eating area that was just for us, plus food was made available for us for breakfast! We really appreciated being able to cook and eat when it was a convenient time for all of us. A fantastic place for large groups and fun because a great pub is very close by in the same building, yet there was never any problems with noise. It felt like home away from home and was so nice for all of us to enjoy. I was sad to leave. The hosts were friendly and helpful, I hope to return and highly-highly recommend this lovely place.

Joanna (Jul 2017)

We could not have been happier with our stay at Upperchurch. Our hosts (Anne and her husband) were extremely friendly, generous and helpful. We felt very much at home. The accommodation was very comfortable, spotlessly clean and beautifully furnished. The location was quiet and offered lovely views of the countryside all around. We were happy with the kitchen too as it was well equipped and we had ample food supplies (provided by Anne) for breakfast. The pub downstairs had a stag party going on, on the night we visited. We were a little apprehensive, but it was super-quiet and we didn't hear anything from the party at all. All in all an excellent place to stay. Thank you so much!

George (Aug 2017)

Anne, and the people of Upperchurch are so kind, helpful and welcoming. I had a fantastic stay, and all was made easy by the kindness of all involved. An absolutely top self catered breakfast, and the room was perfect. Many thanks, George

Johanna (Aug 2018)

Anne is a great communicator and gave excellent directions. He inn is very charming and comfortable. We ate at the pub across the street and had an excellent meal. Would definitely recommend a stay here!

Jackie (Jul 2017)

First class welcome, beautiful clean comfortable rooms and lovely facilities and the kitchen was well equipped and the fridge full. It's located outside Thurles and the locals are so friendly and funny. The owners Anne, Pa, and their son Loughlin couldn't have done more for us. They certainly are the icing on a beautiful cake....we will definitely be back

Karen (May 2017)

We were a group of 8 Aussie travellers(4 couples) in total. We had a fabulous time in Anne's air B and B. We all had beautiful roomy rooms , and each had our own ensuite. The breakfast items that Anne left were fantastic, my husband cooked up a storm for us all which was a perfect start for the day ahead. As we only stayed the night we didnt get to see too much of the surrounding area, however Ann and pa(the pub owner) place was in the most picturesque area in Ireland. Having the pub attached was unreal, we all needed a few pints before bed. Thankyou again Ann and pa for having us.

Romain (June 2017)

Very nice stay in this small town of upperchurch and very good time in the pub of the welcoming Pat below the flat!

Swinford (April 2017)

Lovely accommodation in a beautiful part of the countryside. Great hosts.

Sam (June 2017)

Had a wonderful stay with Anne in UpperChurch. The place was fantastic and she took excellent care of us! Thanks Anne for accommodating us!

Jane (May 2017)

It was really nice stay in Anne & Pa's beautiful house,It has a peaceful environment, lovely facilities delicious food and very cute pets in the village. Totally beyond the exception. We reaaaally had a nice time!!

Kim (Dec 2016)

We had a fantastic stay in Anne's bed and breakfast! The village was beautiful! And the rooms were spotless and spacious. A fully Irish breakfast was provided in the self serve kitchen along with tea, coffee and all the other essentials. Anne's husband, Pa who runs the pub downstairs also looked after us by arranging dinner reservations at the other pub in the village, where we met another lovely family.

Regina (Sep 2016)

Anne was very quick to reply when we requested a booking the same day we wanted to stay. She was very friendly when we arrived and gave me the name of someone to contact to help find our families old farm house. She accommodated all our needs and had the fridge stocked with breakfast foods in abundance. The room was clean and comfortable. I would definitely recommend staying with Anne.

Bronwyn (Sep 2016)

Anne was a wonderful host who warmly greeted us on arrival. Upperchurch is a quaint town with great little pubs. We stayed there to go to Jim O' the Mill on Thursday night which was brilliant. Anne helped sort many things out for us and made for a very memorable stay.

Stephany (July 2016)

We very much enjoyed our stay at Anne's Hill View B&B in Upperchurch. There are several walking trails which traverse the beautiful farms in the area, and the town is quaint and quiet. We stopped in to Pa's pub for a pint, which was fun. When we told Pa about our recent engagement, he had a bottle of champagne waiting by our room when we returned. That was so thoughtful! The room was very clean and comfortable. There was a full kitchen available and food in the refrigerator so we could help ourselves at our convenience.

Jeanne (Apr 2016)

Great stay at Anne's. Perfect for a comfy stay, privacy and loved the serve yourself breakfast. Upperchurch is ideal location for a break away from it all, hill walking and enjoying fantastic local pubs.

Stephan (July 2016)

The house was a nice property in a very quiet and quint village. The hosts were very accommodating and provide a very nice facility for our stay.
